Since I just had to take action against a spammer who slipped through the site's anti-spammer code, I figured I better post this warning. Just because this site isn't particularly active at the moment does NOT mean I am not keeping an eye on it, and taking action where required.

Posting links to any commercial sites not relevant to a particular topic on the forum is strictly prohibited. This includes placing said links in your forum signature. The penalty for posting this...

Last night, I added a new modification to the site which should help keep spammers out. Whenever a user registers with the site from now on, their IP address, email, and user name are checked against an online database of known spammers. If a match is found, the account will require my approval before it can be activated.

The new script has already caught four new accounts at the time I am typing this, and after reviewing the info in the database, I have rejected all four accounts....

I've noticed that, while this site hasn't been especially active during the past year, there has been a recent large increase in new user registrations. Once again, I feel it is necessary to remind people that there is no need to register to download from this site, and that I do periodically remove accounts for which there is no image gallery set up, and which show zero posts (these accounts waste space in the site's database).

That said, I have noticed a few accounts...

Time for another of my infrequent news posts...

After messing around playing The Sims 2 for the past week or so, I've decided to add coverage for it to this site. There is now a single forums section available for discussion of the game and its expansions (note the special rules for that forum however - they will be enforced). I have also created a downloads section for the game, to host my first released file (just a house I spent an hour or two throwing together).
